I’ve never been to India before but when I think about its fashion, Kashmir shawls in pretty paisley patterns often top my mind. These shawls, better known as saris come from the Sanskrit word 'sati', which means strip of cloth. Saris were the first use of the ethnic print paisley – a worldly recognized teardrop shaped pattern, designed in rich shades of blue, yellow and red. The luxurious shawls were weaved in very soft fabric, made from the wool of pashmina goat.
