Shapewear is made in all different shapes and styles designed for different areas of the body. You should choose shapewear according to your problem areas and personal preference – what you are more comfortable in.
Firm control shapewear can be worn on special occasions maybe under a gown or tight-fitting blouse. Whereas light control shapewear might be more comfortable for everyday wear. It’s up to you.
Don’t wear shapewear that’s suffocating and uncomfortable. With tons of brands and styles out there, you can find many shapewear options that suit your needs and problem areas. You should be able to breathe and move comfortably while maintaining a slender, flattering shape.
Every woman is beautiful and no one is perfect. Shapewear will smooth and slenderize to enhance your natural figure. So discover your shape and find styles to boost your confidence and embrace those curves!
Banana Shape: (Think Cameron Diaz, Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes)
Tend to be on the slim side. Breasts, waist, hips and shoulders usually similar in width. Tend to gain weight all over the body, bit more in the rear and waist.
Apple Shape: (Think Oprah, Catherine Zeta Jones & Drew Barrymore)
Larger top half and smaller, narrower bottom half. Tend to have a full chest much bigger than your hips, and sometimes chubby in the arms. You might not have the best defined waist – midsection can have problem areas including love handles, belly fat and back fat. Usually have slim legs and thighs.
Find shapewear that targets your waist and upper half of your body. (anything high-waisted):
High- Waisted Control Brief – For the fuller busted, we do not recommend bodysuits. You need an exact cup size rather than S, M, L. Instead, wear a bra with a high-waisted shaper. Pull the shaper all the way up and tuck it underneath your bra, this way you will have a seamless fit, without back bulge. This will slim your waist, abs, hips and rear.
Body Suit – A bodysuit provides all-in-one coverage – better for smaller cups (up to C), since it comes in sizes S, M, L. Not recommended for larger than D cups as it may flatten you on the breasts.
Camisoles & Shaping Tops – These will eliminate back fat and tone your belly. Shaping camis come with cups or you can wear a Torsett which sits underneath your bra. Smooth upper & lower back, waist, abs, and bust.
Pear Shape: (Think Jennifer Lopez & Beyonce)
Smaller top half and larger bottom half. Bust line and waist line are much smaller than your lower body. Most of you curves are in the hips, butt and thighs.
You don’t need so much sliming at the top or waist. Find shapewear for the lower half of your body.
Hourglass Shape: (Think Kim Kardashian, Marilyn Monroe & Scarlett Johansson)
Balanced top to bottom ratio. Curves are evenly distributed where bust and hips are about the same size. Usually full bust, narrower defined waist, full rear & hips. Shapewear for you depends on where you need or want smoothing.
Leg Shaper & Thigh Slimmer – Slim your abs, butt, hips and thighs. If you have long legs try Shapewear Leggings.
Body Suit – For all over smoothing, trim your waist, smooth out your lower half, and eliminate some cellulite.
